Difference between borrow and lend?

Country: Korea

What's the difference between "borrow" and "lend?"

  1. Hi Sarah,
    Good question!

    borrow = receive
    lend = give

    If I have a pencil and you would like to use my pencil, you would say:

    "Grant, can I borrow your pencil?"

    - and I will say:

    "Sure Sarah, I will lend you my pencil."

    Hope that answers your question Sarah.
